dead roaches around your home?

Why Am I Finding Dead Roaches Around My Home?

You may be sweeping your home and notice that amongst the debris is a dead roach or two. You may also think to yourself “hmmm, that is weird” and move on with your day. A few weeks later you are sweeping again and see yet another dead roach. What is happening? Why are there dead roaches in my home?

There is more than one explanation. One is good and one is bad. We are hoping for your sake it is the good one.

The Good

If you have laid out any roach or insect bait in your home or have hired a professional pest control agent to treat your home, these dead roaches are the result. The bottom line is that your efforts are paying off.

As time moves forward you will see more dead roaches until you won’t see any more at all. This is the desired result of your actions. You want roaches in and around your home dead as a doornail.

The Bad

If you have not had any pest control treatments and are finding dead roaches this can only mean that you have an infestation and the roaches you are finding likely died of natural causes.

If you happen to find a dead roach a few times per year, there is no cause for alarm. But if this is happening every month then you have an issue on your hands.

Roaches are very resilient and sturdy creatures. It takes a lot to kill them. If they are showing up dead around your home and there has been no pest control, this means that there could be hundreds or even thousands of them in your walls, crawl spaces, pipes or attic.

Solutions

You can buy roach baits and apply them around your home. There are various means to deliver pesticide. Or you can hire a pest control company to come to take a look around and craft a treatment plan that will work for your particular situation.

It is important not to give these scavengers any wiggle room or make their life easier. Roaches need food and water. Make sure to clean daily and give them no sustenance to live on. You may not be able to starve them out completely, but these efforts will surely help in reducing the roach problem you are facing.
